Mr. Young has played chess for decades, since Junior High School in Owego, NY. His chess rating at the United States Chess Federation is approximately 1500. He has played in over-the-board (in person) chess tournaments in the past, but mainly plays online since covid. Mr. Young taught the Chess 1 class last year, and he enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels. He is a retired computer analyst.
